Humans need words. We give names, attributes, definitions and labels to everything. Neatly put things in boxes. But nature seldom adheres to our strict classifications. It’s fluid. Every element is in constant flux and interchanging. And we humans are a part of that flux too. The underlying essence of all things is the same.

A child looks at nature in its pure form, free of these constraints. But our human rationality has made us draw neat little lines separating our “selves” from the objective world and other organisms around us. We’ve forgotten the core truth that we are part of all and all is part of us. The end result is an endless exploitation of nature and increasingly damaging lifestyles.

Here’s my attempt at portraying nature through the lens of a child in this new series, “A fluid landscape”.
